Effective July 2, Archbishop Chaput asked me to be the new Rector of “St. Joseph-in-the-Hills” also known as Malvern Retreat House in Malvern PA. I think the assignment presents a new opportunity to minister to a wide range of people in a very unique setting. Malvern offers days-of reflection, overnight- and three day retreats during the week as well as on weekends for:
* Couples (Pre-Cana for example),
* Youth and teens (Kairos Retreats and others)…
…as well as custom special programs. Malvern provides help with the programming, rooms, meals, sacramental ministry (Confession, Mass, prayer) and LOTS of quiet time on 120 gorgeous wooded acres.
As to the specifics of my assignment, I’ll be giving retreats, providing sacramental ministry (Mass, homilies, Confessions) generally helping out with the weekend, daily and weekly retreats, scheduling retreat leaders as well as helping to developing new programs and retreats.
